BILS, BILS, BILS
No, not this kind of bills. I'm talking about Building Information Literacy Skills (BILS) which is part of the Computer Profiency requirement every student must meet before graduating.
Lila has a new guide covering a range of skills you need to know from narrowing a topic to avoiding plagiarism and everything in between. Spend a little time with this and you'll pass that BILS test on the first try. Check it out!

From Here…To The Top! : Belmont Music Alumni
Did you know that the list of Belmont music alums includes some very famous faces? If not, come check out the display on the first floor! The display was curated and researched by Graduate Music Student Beth Pirtle with assistance from Music Librarian Lina Terjesen and Reference and Instruction Librarian Judy Williams. It features photos and information about such noted alumni as Trisha Yearwood, Ashley Gorley, Steven Curtis Chapman, Brad Paisley, and Vince Gill. There is also a second “satellite” display on the 3rd floor that features historic programs from the Ward-Belmont Conservatory, taped interviews with Minnie Pearl, and alumni albums from the collection in the Listening/Viewing Center.

Redbox has nothing on Lila
The popular DVD and CD collection that was formerly housed on the first floor has recently been moved up to the Listening/Viewing Center on the third floor! Popular materials have also been pulled from the closed stacks of the LVC and added to this collection. Now displayed in browsing-friendly shelves, these materials are easier than ever to find. Materials include award winning films from Moneyball to Rocky and artists from Zac Brown Band to Nicki Minaj.
Come on over and check out this new and improved collection. There’s enough to keep you entertained all summer long!

Nothin' to hide?
It's Choose Privacy Week at the American Library Association, so why not hop on over here and learn about the privacy revolution? You'll find blog posts, discussions, and videos all about how to "protect your freedom to read, search, and learn in a digital age." Let's face it - we could all use a little education about this topic, even Lila!
